Launching the Blackdown Hills food and drink festival

Hemyock Parish Hall is the venue for the launch

of the 2008 Blackdown Hills Food & Drink

Festival. There will be something for everyone –

local producers selling their fabulous food, drink

and crafts, take some refreshments whilst

catching up with friends and enjoying the

entertainment on offer. For the more energetic

there will be sports events on the field. A great

family day out and it’s free!

Beer festival

Come to the Half Moon Inn for their Bank Holiday

beer festival. Lots of locally produced real ales to

try. Live music in the garden and in the beer tent.

Farm open day and farm shop tasting at Wallaces

Tutored tasting of West Country cheese

(also on Saturday 31st May)

Enjoy a tutored tasting of 10-12 West Country

cheeses with bread and local pickles. Kath will

present each cheese and tell you a story or two

about the cheese makers as well!

A celebration of Blackdown Hills produce

condensed into a 2 or 3 course lunch menu with a

demonstration using lower cost beef cuts

including farm visit to the sheep (Jacobs and

Finale event

Nick and Ruth Strange welcome you to Beech

Hayes on Open Farm Sunday to enjoy a relaxing

day out. There will be farm walks, a chance to

feed the calves and lambs, collect the eggs and

then browse around the stalls offering local

produce. Children can take part in a quiz and

treasure hunt and for the grown ups there will be

a bar & barbeque whilst you enjoy the live music.
